Kirkwood
Retreat Facilities
and Rental Fees
Nestled deep
in the woods, Kirkwood is a beautiful sanctuary
of plant and wildlife on over 286 acres. Lush
foliage, beautiful scenery and wooded trails
abound. We offer different types of facilities
which all have built-in bunk beds or steel-framed
cots with foam mattresses. Food service is
available and our buildings are equipped for
groups to do their own cooking as well. Listed
below you'll find the descriptions, maximum
capacities and rates for each building. One rate
is for churches in the Philadelphia Presbytery
and the other is for groups/churches outside the
Presbytery. The rates listed below are the
costs per night for each facility.

Facilities are not
available for rental during summer camping season.
Kirkwood is a great
place for winter retreats due to our proximity to
Camelback Ski Resort.

LODGING
THE CABOOSE IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL
Want a unique
experience? Try our caboose. It's heated in the
winter and air conditioned for the warmer weather.
There's a fully equipped galley with a four
burner unit, sink, small refrigerator, pots and
pans and enough dishes for four. It also includes
a full bathroom. All the comforts of home!
There's a sitting area which includes a table for
eating. Another great feature for spring and fall
is the deck. A stay in the caboose - great for a
brief stay in the Poconos! If you are a rental
group and need space apart from the group for a
few individuals, it's ideal.

Stroup
House
This facility has four bedrooms for ten persons
each; a large meeting room, with fire place,
which can seat 40 people; a kitchen equipped to
prepare large group meals; two complete bathrooms
for the ladies with two showers each, one
complete bathroom for the men with four showers.
The facility also has a washer & dryer.
Heated for winter, fan-cooled for summer use.

Meadowside
Cottage
Meadowside has a medium-sized living room/dining-kitchen
area which can accommodate 12 people; two
bedrooms, each with 3 bunk beds, both with full
bathrooms. Living room has a wood-burning stove
and washer & dryer as well as central heat
and window air conditioner.

Fossil Rock Cabins
Four rustic A-frame cabins situated on a wooded
hillside in close proximity to a parking area and
dining hall. Each cabin has two sleeping areas,
each with bunk beds for six people and one
complete bathroom as well as a small kitchen area
and common area. Heated in winter.
Maximum capacity: 12 per cabin

Carriage House
Upper level has two bedrooms, each with a double
bed and a full bathroom; kitchen and living room.
Located downstairs is the Green Room, a medium-sized
meeting room with rest room facilities and a wood-burning
stove.

Tents
Platform tents situated in our tenting
areas that sleep 6 each. Available in spring and
fall only.

MEETING
SPACE/RECREATIONAL
Green Room
- Meeting space only
This is the first floor space of the carriage
house, a medium sized meeting room as described
above.
$40 per weekend
Dining Hall
This building may be used for meetings
or programming, by pre-arrangement. Has a
capacity of 80 people. Groups using the dining
hall for programming are responsible for cleaning
the facility before scheduled meal times.
$50 per weekend
Bob's Depot
This is a large multipurpose building which can
be used for meetings or worship or for indoor
sports and games with basketball hoops and
volleyball equipment. This is lit but not heated
so is available April through November only. Use
can be requested on your contract.
$50 per 2 day event.
Ropes Course
The fees for the ropes course are set in order to cover the cost
of the ongoing maintenance of the course and equipment as well.
The fee paid to those who facilitate covers the time
participants are on the course as well as the time to set it up
and travel time for the facilitators since they are volunteers
and not employees of the camp.
This
activity is available by pre-arrangement only. The availability
of facilitators as well as the weather are both factors in
determining the use of the ropes course.
The fees are as follows:

DINING
FACILITIES & SERVICES
Cooking in Lodging Facilities
All lodging facilities are equipped to do your
own food preparation. Coffee makers are also
supplied.
Food Service
Food service is available with facility rentals
on a per meal basis as follows: Breakfast $6.00;
Lunch $7.00; Dinner $8.00. There is a 24-person
minimum charge for food service.
